stored on the device and discarded when the device log storage capacity is exceeded.

Configuring Severity Settings

Use the

General

settings to select the severity levels of the log entries you want to forward

to a specific location. Juniper Networks assigns a predefined severity level for each event
that generates a log entry on a managed device; using NSM, you can configure a device
to send log entries with specific severity levels to specific destinations.

For each destination (except

Firewall Options

), you can specify one or more severity

levels; for details on severity levels, see “About Log Severity” on page 731.

Not all destinations support all log entry severities. Table 93 on page 734 details the log
entry severities accepted by each destination (except Firewall Options):
