Trouble of sewng (slp-off of needle thread, sttch skppng, or stan of needle thread) at the tme of hgh-

speed start can be prevented wth the thread clamp devce. 

The thread clamp devce wll operate when the thread clamp button has been selected 

, but t wll 

not operate when the thread clamp button has not been selected 

. 

Changeover of ON/OFF moton s performed wth 

 key. When the thread graspng devce s n the 

OFF state, the sewng machne s automatcally set to the soft-start mode.

 

1.  When memory switch 

 is "1" (prohibited), the thread clamp does not work. Fur-

thermore, the thread clamp key 

 will not be displayed.

* Matters that demand special attention when using the needle thread clamp

(1)  In case of wth the needle thread clamp (moton), make shorter the length of needle thread reman-

ng on the needle at the sewng start for use. When the length of needle thread s lengthened, 

needle thread on the wrong sde of materal s apt to protrude. In addton, when the length s 

excessvely lengthened, the end of needle thread held by the needle thread clamp may be rolled n 

the seams.

When the sewng length s short (less than ap-

proxmately 10 mm), the end of needle thread may 

protrude lke beard even when adjustng needle 

thread shorter.

1)  In case of wth the needle thread clamp, the 

standard of the length of needle thread s 33 

to 36 mm.

2)  When needle thread s long after replacng 

thread or the lke or sewng whle holdng nee-

dle thread by hand, turn OFF the THREAD 
CLAMP 

 key.

3)  When the needle thread held wth the thread 

clamp s rolled n the seams, do not draw the 

materal forcbly and cut the connectng needle 

thread wth the scssors or the lke. The seams 

are not damaged snce t s the needle thread at 

the sewng start.

(2)  It s possble to adjust needle thread shorter by makng the needle thread clamp work whle holdng 

the stablzed sewng at the start of sewng and the gatherng (brd's nest) of needle thread on the 

wrong sde of materal can be lessened. However, for the pattern whch the sttch length for neatly 

rollng n needle thread s short, needle thread may protrude from the wrong sde of materal. Select 

wth/wthout thread clamp referrng to the tem below.
