7.3.3 GENERAL ALARM
General Alarm (GA) is the highest priority alarm in the system.
7.3.3.1 PRIORITY
• GA overrides any other audible alarm in the system.
• GA overrides any external entertainment system by means of an entertainment mute signal while active
(see chapter 4.4 and 9.3).
• GA overrides any volume controls (entertainment) while active.
• GA overrides normal paging (PA).
• GA does not override emergency paging (EMPA) messages currently active. GA will activate once the
EMPA message has been concluded.
• GA is broadcast to all zones/areas in the system.
7.3.3.2 DESCRIPTION
General Alarm is initiated by pressing Alarm button 1 on the 1603/1605/1606/1643. This button is distinguished by a red
colour. The button must be pressed for at least one second to activate the alarm.
General alarm can be terminated by pressing the Cancel button. This button is distinguished by a white colour. The button
must be pressed for at least one second to cancel any alarm.
The 1603/1605/1606/1643 access units have three additional alarm buttons for activation of optional alarms. These alarms
must all have a lower priority than the GA and will be overridden if GA is activated.
