Cutting an unpillowed log
Saw down halfway, then roll the log over and cut
from the opposite side.
Cutting a pillowed log
In the area A in the picture right above, saw up from
the bottom one-third and finish by sawing down
from the top. In the area B, saw down from the top
one-third and finish by sawing up from the bottom.
Limbing a felled tree
First check which way the limb is bent.
Then make a shallow cut into the
compressed side to prevent the limb from
being torn. Cut through from the tensed
side.
Be alert to the spring back of a cut limb.
Pruning
Cut up from the bottom, finish down from the top.
1. Do not use an unstable foothold or a stepladder.
2. Do not overreach.
3. Do not cut above shoulder height.
4. Always use both hands to grip the saw.
The Spiked bumper must always be put on while using the chain saw on tree trunk.
Push the spiked bumper into the tree trunk by using the rear handle. Push the front
handle in the direction of cutting line. The spiked bumper must be remaining set for
further saw guiding if necessary. Use a spiked bumper when cutting trees and thick
branches can ensure your safety and decrease the working strength and vibration
level.
