Chapter 6: Digital signal inputs
6. Digital signal inputs
General
The possibility to interrupt digital signal inputs by external digital
signals and thus triggering an alarm can occur. These inputs can
be configured in the menu as “normally close” or “normally open”
and the level inputs must be additionally deactivated.
6.1 Start-up lag time
The digital signal inputs causes alarm and/or auxiliary functions,
which interferes with the normal functions of the automatic con-
troller. If a digital signal input is operated and if the appropriate
function is implemented, this has mostly effects on the quality
of the measurement and the regulation will be set to “0 %”. Af-
ter that the automatic work of the automatic controller is again
configured; if a start-up lag time occurs, the sensors reset them-
selves to the automatic measuring procedure.
WARNING!
The start-up delay is active:
• after cleaning of the filter
• after the occurrence of the “external disconnec-
tion” (shortage of measuring water),
• after calibration of a measuring input
• when switching on a supply voltage
6.2 Controller function deactivation with alarm
(in the event of measuring water shortage)
By an external flow contact the automatic controller functions
activates. If the function “shortage of measuring water” is ac-
tive and it arises a shortage of measuring water, all automatic
controller outputs are set to 0%, thus switching alarm relays;
the announcement “shortage of measuring water” appears in the
display.
6.3 Controller function deactivation without alarm
(during cleaning of the filter)
This function can be activated by an external contact during filter
cleaning. The automatic controller functions are set for to 0%
and the writing “external out” appears in the display during this
time. If the contact is again released, then for a starting time the
initial value is set, as it was prior to the filter cleaning. After this
starting time the regulation begins independently. This starting
lag time is necessary. After a filter cleaning the measured values
are not to be used immediately for regulation, since these must
reset themselves again to the measuring water. Therefore the
regulation is set on the automatic controller power output, as it
was prior the filter flushing. The regulation of the measured value
begins only after the deceleration time is over.
6.4 Pre-alarm and level alarm for metering pump
By an external contact e.g. of the level switches of an intake, the
connection between the clamps 1 and (intake dosing pump
free chlorine) and/or. 5 and 6 (intake dosing pump pH value)
can be opened and/or closed. The announcement “free chlorine
level early warning” and/or “pH value level early warning” appear
in on the display and the alarm relay switches. The chemicals
should be refilled. No chemicals refilled can be opened and/or
closed after a further contact of the intake connection between
the clamps 3 and 4 (intake dosing pump free chlorine) and/or
7 and 8 (intake dosing pump pH value). The announcement
“free chlorine level Alarm” and/or “pH value level Alarm” appears
on the display and the alarm relay switches; at the same time
the automatic controller output line of the respective input is set
to 0.
WARNING!
If the level inputs in the menu „Service Schalteingän-
ge” [Service switching inputs] are activated, the level
switches are to be attached to the clamps. If no level
switch is attached, the inputs are to be deactivated.
