BATTERY NOTE AND CARE
- Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
- Be sure that all batteries are installed correctly. Wrong polarity may damage the unit.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommend are to be used.
- If the unit is not be used for an extended period of time, remove all batteries. Old or
leaking battery can cause damage to the unit and may void the warranty.
- Do not dispose batteries in fire. Batteries may leak or explode.
- Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.
LOW BATTERY INDICATOR
When using battery power to operate this unit and the battery power becomes weak, the
LOW BATTERY ICON
(#16) will appear on the display. We recommend you replace
the exhausted batteries immediately.
The low battery icon will also appear on the display if you are using the AC adaptor,
and do not have batteries installed.
NOTE:
The speaker is not magnetically shielded and may cause color distortion on the
screen of some TVs or video monitors. To avoid this, you may need to move the
unit further away from the TV or monitor if unnatural color shifts or image distortion
occurs.
STANDBY MODE
Standby Mode is when the unit is first plugged into an AC power source (display flashing),
or after all the settings have been made and the time is showing on the display. The radio,
and Aux-in modes are all off, no buttons are pressed and no alarms are sounding.
SETTING THE CLOCK
The LCD DISPLAY (#12) will flash when the unit is plugged in for the first time. The unit is
now in
standby mode.
1. In standby mode, press and hold the CLOCK SET BUTTON (#4) until the 12 Hr or 24
Hr flash on the LCD DISPLAY (#12).
2. Tap the TUNE - or TUNE + BUTTONS (#5 or #7) to select either 24-hour time mode or
12-hour time mode. Select 12-hour mode.
3. Tap the CLOCK SET BUTTON (#4) again to confirm the selection.
4. The display will change to the clock and the hour digits will begin flashing.
5. Repeatedly tap the TUNE - or TUNE + BUTTONS (#5 or #7) to set the hour. Press and
hold the TUNE - or TUNE + BUTTONS (#5 or #7) to quickly scan through the hour
digits if needed.
Note:
AM and PM ICONS (#20 & #21) are located above the clock digits on the LCD
DISPLAY (#12). Be sure that AM ICON (#20) is on if you want the set hours to be AM,
or the PM ICON (#21) is on if you want the set hours to be PM.
