Preliminary Surround Processor Settings:
If this is the first time the system is being used, it is quite likely that the various user controls are still set to the factory
defaults. However, it is a good idea to make certain they are. There are two ways to do this.
1. Reset the surround processor. Instructions for doing this can be found in the surround processor operator’s manual
under “Restoring Defaults”.
2. Check each setting manually. They should be set as follows:
I. Global Settings:
A. Master Gain Control: 0dB
B. Speaker Configuration:
LEFT – CENTER – RIGHT, all models: Small, 80Hz high-pass
LEFT & RIGHT AMBIENTS, Synthesis 1: Small dipole, 80Hz high-pass
LEFT & RIGHT AMBIENTS, Synthesis 2 and 3: Small dipole, 100Hz high-pass
BASS SPLIT: 80Hz
REARS: None
SUBWOOFER: Yes, crossover set to 80Hz
C. All outputs levels set to 0.0dB
D. SUBWOOFER PEAK LIMITER: OFF
E. All surround processor EQUALIZATION settings should be as follows:
BASS: 0dB
TREBLE: 0dB
TILT: 0dB
LOUDNESS: OFF
F. LISTENER POSITION: 3’
II. Mode-Specific Settings:
A. Confirm the following settings for PRO-LOGIC mode:
AUTO AZIMUTH: OFF
DIALOGUE ENHANCE: 0dB
EFFECT LEVEL: 0dB
SUBWOOFER LEVEL: 0dB
SURROUND LEVEL: 0dB
B. Confirm the following setting for STEREO BYPASS mode:
