12.7 The sync function

Chases and sequences can be controlled by bass-beat, thanks to the sound function. The steps are not any 
longer controlled by time or manually, but by the bass beats of the music. A sound signal has to be 
connected to the sound input (stereo jack). The green LED will start flashing after a sound signal has be 
connected.  
The configuration of the bass frequency can not be changed. It is pre-programmed.  
But the number of bass beats which will be counted until the next step will be recalled can be entered.  
There is a choice from one to sixteen beats.  
 
To activate the sound function press the sound key (LED is lit) 
 
 

 
The sign shows after which number of bass-beats the next step will be recalled. In this 
case the next step will be switch on after every single beat.  
 
 
 

To change the number of beats enter Prog chase menu and press simultaneously the sound key (Chase 
Control Section) and on of the Beat-Count keys (cue section). 

 
 
The cue keys no. 1 to  no. 16 are according to the 
bass beats 1 to 16.  
If the chase or sequence steps should be recalled 
after 4 bass beats, press cue key 4/C 
 
Usually a bass beat varies during the duration of 
a track. There are passages with very fast bass 
beats sequences. For this case a gate time can 
be entered. For the period of the gate time bass-
beats are not counted.  
 

Enter TOOLS menu to enter the gate time. Choose function SOUND and enter gate time by means of the 
encoder wheel situated int the middle. A gate time of 0,30 seconds will fit most tracks.
