16.3 Transporting the A50 Skid Steer Model
The A50 skid steer model
is designed to be easily and conveniently moved from one location to
another using a skid steer loader. The following outlines the procedure for securing and
transporting this model.
Think SAFETY! Work SAFELY!
1. Be sure all bystanders are clear of the machine and that there are no riders on the machine.
2. Be sure that the skid steer loader is rated to lift the mixer at full load. Remember, a loaded
mixer (machine and payload) may weigh as much as 2,500 lbs. (1134 kg).
3. Be sure that the control pendant, cable and hydraulic hoses (from mixer) are secured away
from the quick attach mounting plate to avoid pinching or damage.
4. Position the skid steer loader facing the quick attach mounting plate. Using the quick attach
adaptor/latch, connect the skid steer loader to the quick attach mounting plate on the A50
skid steer. Once the latches have fully engaged drop the latch pins through the lower holes
on the quick attach mounting plate
(refer to your
skid steer loader’s
operating/maintenance manual for more manufacturer-specific instructions)
.
5. For safety, do not go under the mixer or skid steer loader lift arms or reach through the lift
arms when they are raised. Only go under a raised mixer if properly supported using a lift or
safety stands.
6. Once in motion, it is not recommended that the machine be transported faster than 15 km/hr.
(10 mph). Never transport faster than the road or terrain conditions will allow you to do
safely. If upgrades are included (stand and wheels) ensure excessive force from the skid
steer loader is not exerted onto the wheel casters as this could result in damage to A50 skid
steer components.

– Ensure the wheels maintain contact with the ground during operation
(only on upgraded models).
