7.3.
Emptying soil bin
Procedure:
1.
Turn the machine off and remove the plug from the power socket.
2.
Remove the soil from the soil bin.
3.
Clean the elevator buckets.
4.
Take the cover off (see photo).
5.
Loosen the wing nut (see photo) and lift the soil slide out.
6.
Brush any soil away from under the machine.
7.
Fit the soil slide back into place, tighten the wing nut and fit the cover.
Do NOT clean with water: use compressed air and/or a brush.
Do NOT use sharp tools: these could damage belts.
7.4.
Lubricating drill unit
The drill unit must be lubricated at three points.
Procedure:
1.
Lubricate the arm of the drill unit with thin grease every 40
operating hours.
2.
Clean the 2 chrome-plated shafts of the drill unit with light
oil every 320 operating hours.
3.
Lubricate the drill rods with light oil every 320 operating
hours.
7.5.
Cleaning elevator buckets
Procedure:
1.
Turn the machine off and remove the plug from the power socket.
2.
Undo the two top wing nuts on the top panel. Tilt the panel to the back and
clean the buckets with compressed air.
a. Clean the links between the buckets and elevator buckets thoroughly.
7.6.
Testing safety circuit
Procedure:
1. Turn the machine on.
2. Press the emergency stop button. The machine is not turned off.
3. Pull the red head of the emergency stop button out. The machine stays turned off.
4. Press the emergency stop circuit reset button. The machine stays turned off.
5. Turn the machine on.
The machine must NOT be used when the machine does not respond as described in the above procedure.
