Update the ROM
Updating the ROM Image
The XG100 comes preloaded with the latest ROM. For a ROM update or after a clean reset, you may
need to install/update the ROM image.
There are two methods to update the ROM: 1) XGFlash Utility 2) SD ImgUpdate Utility.
1. XG Flash Utility:
Uses a cradle or USB cable to update the XG100 ROM. To use this method, you will need to install a
USB driver (RNDIS KITL) on your PC. The USB driver is available online at
www.janam.com
, in
Partnerzone (login required). The USB driver installation is needed one time only, unless a different
computer is subsequently used (each computer used will need the USB driver).
2. SD ImgUpdate Utility:
Uses a microSD card to update the XG100 ROM. The SD ImgUpdate Utility comes preloaded on the XG100.
Method 1 – Update Using XG Flash Utility:
Download the USB driver:
1.
Go to
www.janam.com
and login to Partnerzone (you will need a login name and password).
2.
Accept the terms and conditions, and enter Partnerzone.
3.
Select the XG100 folder and locate the XG100 WinCE6 XG Flash file (zip file).
4.
Click on the download arrow next to the program file.
5.
Click finish.
6.
When download is complete, extract all the files to your computer in a location of your choice.
To install the RNDIS KITL (USB driver):
1.
First, enter Download mode on the terminal

Press the trigger and ESC button and release.
b.
Immediately press and hold the trigger and the Enter button
