without resetting distance by pressing the CLEAR
key.
Step 3 Pressing the T-S key a third time cycles back to the first
display of distance traveled.
The DMI is instructed to count up with this key. This same key,
when used with the Pre-Distance function will ADD the value
entered to the current distance display.
The DMI is instructed to count down with this key. The LED
for the unit of measurement will flash telling you that you are
subtracting distance. Should you count down to "0", the DMI
will provide a tone and automatically begin counting up. This
same key, when used with the Pre-distance function will sub-
tract the value entered from the current distance display. A third
but lesser used function is to turn off the tone when using the
Distance Pulse Output.
This key resets the distance or time to zero (0). For added
convenience, CLEAR can be used on the run (while measur-
ing). This feature will allow you to establish a zero starting
point without having to stop your vehicle in traffic or in the
center of a busy intersection.
This key instructs the DMI to accept the previously keyed value
on the display, such as calibration number, Pre-Distance, etc.
Remember that after keying in a value, you must press the
ENTER key.
These keys are used to identify and select the numbers desired
for calibration, pre-distance, distance pulse output, etc. They
are also used in combination with other keys to perform certain
functions.
This key is used to activate the Distance Pulse Output feature
of the DMI. Refer to the Distance Pulse Output procedure on
page 4-5 for more detailed information on how this feature can
be used.
