Manual Calibration Procedure
It is very common to use one DMI on a plug-in basis between a number of
different vehicles that have been equipped to accept the instrument. Install-
ing additional vehicle kits on other vehicles is an inexpensive and cost ef-
fective means to greatly expand your measuring capabilities. Obviously,
each vehicle so equipped would have to be calibrated and the number re-
corded. If you are moving the DMI from vehicle to vehicle you will need
to enter the correct calibration number for each vehicle before use. The
following procedure assumes the calibration number for a particular vehicle
has already been determined and recorded.
Step 1 Slide the ON/OFF switch to ON. The RAC 100/200 will
complete a brief Self Test, the current calibration number will
be displayed with a three second tone, then [C.H 0.000] will
appear.
Step 2 Press the CAL key. [CL 0.000] will be displayed. DO NOT
key in a calibration course length, just press the ENTER key.
[CF ] along with the current calibration number will be dis-
played.
Step 3 To change this number, key in the new calibration number and
press ENTER. [C.H 0.000] is displayed and the new calibra-
tion number is stored in the nonvolatile memory. If you did not
key in a new number and just pressed ENTER, the old calibra-
tion number has been placed back into memory.
Step 4 Select the desired unit of measurement and press C-HOLD
prior to measuring.
Once your DMI is properly installed and calibrated, you are ready to
begin accurately measuring distance.
