7. Image output
7.1. CCD Sensor Layout

The CCD sensor layout with respect to pixels and lines used in the timing and video full frame
read out is shown below.

Important Note

: By using Optical Black (OB) transfer mode, the use can select whether to

include optical black pixels in the image stream. This is for Horizontal only.

7.2. Vertical Binning (BM-500GE only).

The binning functions can be used to
achieve higher frame rate or higher
sensitivity. The drawback is lower
resolution.
Vertical binning is done by adding the
charge from pixels in adjacent lines in the
horizontal CCD register.

Fig. 11 shows the binning principle. Resolution and frame rate for all combinations are shown
in the below table.
The BM-500GE has ON or OFF function for Vertical Binning:
