Time functions
By virtue of a mechanical coupling with the international GMT
system 24 time-zone disc, the Master Compressor Diving
Pro Geographic watch has a double time display, which, by
a simple adjustment on the sub-dial at 9 o’clock, can indicate
the time in one of the world’s 24 time-zones, selected on the
24-city disc.
So this watch has a mechanical display featuring:
- The “local” hour, minute, and date (for your place of
residence).
- The city selected for the second time-zone.
- The hour in the second time-zone selected, with a 24-hour
indicator.
The Master Compressor Diving Pro Geographic Navy SEALs
watch is mechanically programmed according to the interna-
tional Greenwich Mean Time system (GMT).
Under this system, the world is divided into 24 time-
zones, each 15 degrees longitude in width (see map below).
In each of these time-zones, the official time is the same; the
official time varies by one hour when you pass between time-
zones.
Starting from the Greenwich meridian, time-zone centre 0,
12 zones have been defined ranging from +1 to +12 hours
Eastward and 12 zones ranging from 0 to -11 hours West-
ward.
Jaeger-LeCoultre has personalised each of these time-zones
with the name of a city, which is displayed in the window
located at 6 o’clock on the dial of your watch.
So as not to compromise the overall legibility, the city disc
does not show the few regions in which the official time dif-
fers by a fraction of an hour (e.g.: India, Iran, Nepal).
Starting the watch
Crown A
Turn the compression key to the “open” position in the direc-
tion of the arrow. Crown A will then be in position 1.
A few clockwise turns of the crown will suffice to start the
watch. The small black disc with a luminous bar through it, in
the 5 o’clock position, will then start moving. This function,
which completes one revolution in 60 seconds, acts as an
operating indicator to demonstrate that the watch is running.
The watch will then automatically wind up when you wear
it. Please note that the crown does not lock on winding, even
when the watch is fully wound.
Once the operation is complete, turn the compression key to
the “closed” position in the direction of the arrows.
