This section will describe in more detail how to use the query commands.
Several special characters can be used to query the device about its settings:

What is the device’s current ROM value for the setting?

In the following examples, a bracketed notation [ ] depicts a non-displayable response.

Menu Bar Code Scanning
As the JADAK HS-1M can be programmed by scanning menu bar codes or by sending serial
commands to the engine, there is an option to restrict the ability to scan menu codes.
By setting
MNUENAB 0
, you can no longer scan menu programming barcodes.
The only command or scannable menu barcode to revert this will be
MNUENAB 1
.
