1. Login to the probe.

An online upgrade will download the XRPi2 upgrade package from Ixia public servers. If the
XRPi2 has access to the Internet, this is the recommended method.
To start an online upgrade, type the following command:
xrpi2_upgrade
l
If the XRPi2 does not have access to the Internet, you can upgrade against an Hawkeye
server.
To upgrade against an Hawkeye server, type the following command:
xrpi2_upgrade <online/offline><HawkeyeIP>
<HawkeyeIP>
: Hawkeye server IP or URL that the XRPi2 will use as the reference server for
downloading the upgrade files. This is only used if the upgrade is performed offline.
<online>
: If the probe will access the Hawkeye server over the internet, use this option.
Using the <online> option causes the command to ignore the
HawkeyeIP
option and is equi-
valent to using the
xrpi2_online_upgrade
command.
<offline>
: If the probe will access the Hawkeye server over a private network, use this
option. This option causes the command to download the upgrade package from the
HawkeyeIP
address.
Upgrading Through Hawkeye
For IxChariot Pro (version 6.80) and Hawkeye :
You can upgrade the XRPi2 from the GUI (for Hawkeye, only for endpoints configured as manual!! -
automatic endpoints upgrade automatically).
In order to be upgradeable from Hawkeye:

The XRPi2 must be managed through Hawkeye.
l
You must login to Hawkeye using the Administrator account.
Two settings in Hawkeye affect the upgrade process. They are shown in the Preferences window
(
Administration
|
Preferences
). You must configure these settings to perform the upgrade.
