EMERGENCY MESSAGES ON THE DISPLAY AND ERROR BITS IN LASER’S STATUS.
1. No power supply. Bit 11.
OFF
SAFETY CIRCUIT OPEN
This means that the internal power supply is switched off. Make sure that
EMERGENCY
button on
laser front panel is released and the safety interlock channels of the External Interface Connector are
in appropriate state. Press the
START
button on laser front panel or the Remote Start button
depending on the “LOCAL” or “REMOTE” regime of operation.
The message and the error bit are to
disappear.
2. Optical Interlock. Bit 30.
ERROR
OPTICAL INTERLOCK
This means that the delivery fiber cable is mechanically damaged. The internal main power supply is
automatically switched off. Send reset error command (“RERR”), and if the message does not
disappear contact a representative from IPG Laser for assistance.
3. High back reflection. Bit 3.
ERROR
BACK REFLECTION
This means that the back reflected power exceeded the preinstalled maximal applicable level. Laser
emission is switched off. Please check if the focus position is correctly adjusted and that there are no
surfaces which can lead to the high level of back reflection. Reset the error using RS-232 (“RERR”
command) or control buttons on the front panel.
4. Overheat. Bit 1.
ERROR
OVERHEATED
This means that case temperature of the laser is too high. The power supply and laser emission will be
switched off. Please check if outside conditions are in the operating range and if the properly
conditions for airflow are provided. This message and error bit disappear as soon as case temperature
of the laser modules drops in the operating range.
