ACTIVATING.
Before supplying the power, make sure that the Power supply AC Line is set to the right VAC.
1. Make sure that the surface of the optical output termination is clean and mount it into an appropriate
optical head.
2. If the the back reflected light is expected, provide the optical output termination with sufficient cooling.
3. Provide the proper connection of the safety interlock channels (see External Interface Connector
description).
4. Put on protection glasses.
5. Connect the power cord to the AC Line.
6. Insert the key and turn it to “ON” or “REM” position.
NOTE:
If the power key is in “ON” position it is possible to switch the internal main power supply using “START” button
on the front panel. If the key is in “REM” position the “START” button on the front panel is deactivated. In this
case
Remote Power Key Switch
, wired to the External Interface Connector (see rear panel description), needs to
be turned on
and after that
Remote Start Button
, wired to the same interface connector, needs to be pressed for
activating the device.
7. Enable the internal main power supply.
8. Now the device is ready for operation. Using RS-232 or control buttons on front panel choose the
mode of operation and switch the emission on.
NOTE:
The monitoring of the optical power must be used only as indication of the output laser power. The accuracy of
the output power indication is
±
1 dB. In order to measure correct value of the output power use direct
measuring of the optical power by the proper power meter.
