The Sigma
7
is similar in operation to a standard office or residential telephone handset. Functions
such as initiating calls, answering calls, and disconnecting calls are accomplished using familiar
procedures. The handset also features a special-function key to provide enhanced features such as
flash transfer and access to programming menus.
1. Making a Call
n
Remove the handset from the cradle and press the < On> button to place a call.
n
Dial the destination telephone number and wait for the call to connect. This button allows the
phone to operate out of the cradle so it can remain on a desk or other convenient location for
easy access.
2. Answering a call
The telephone handset will ring on an inbound call.
n
To answer the call, simply remove the handset from the cradle.
n
Press the < On > button and the calling party will be on the line.
3. Putting a Call on Hold
n
Press the < Flash > button to place a call on hold and mute the audio so no communication is
possible between the handset and the other party.
n
To release the hold feature and restore the call, press the < Flash > button again.
4. Adjusting Ear-Piece Volume
The volume-up button (

and volume-down button (

) located just below the keypad permit
increasing or decreasing the earpiece volume.

To increase volume, press the

key while the telephone is off hook. Maximum amplification is
earpiece level 4 in the LCD display. The audio level only applies to each call and is reset to the
default level (configurable) when the handset is returned to its cradle.
