Concurrent Import Process
The 6920 Communications Server" provides a method of
processing called concurrent." This method allows another
process to create files in the C:\6920\Import" subdirectory
and have the 6920 Import Process" automatically move the
files.

NOTE: The SESSION.CTL file does not update the “6920 Communications”
database until all terminals are “inactive.”
There are steps to which a customer host application should
take to implement concurrent import processing:
1. Before putting files in the Import subdirectory, check
to see if the 6920 Import Process" is actively using
the subdirectory. If $$DIRLCK.FLG is present, the
6920 Import Process" has control of the directory.
2. If the host process can begin putting files in the subdiĆ
rectory, lock the subdirectory by creating a
$$DIRLCK.FLG file in the Import subdirectory.
3. Move all files into the Import subdirectories.
4. Delete the $$DIRLCK.FLG file.

NOTE: When importing a data file and a problem is encountered with the
file, the original file is left in the Import directory. An output file is
moved from the Download directory to the ErrHold directory. Use
caution when doing concurrent importing as the system will repeat-
edly try to import the bad file.
