SCSI / IDE SETUP
SCSI ID Setup
Each SCSI device must have its own unique SCSI ID. The SCSI IDE is a
number between 0 and 7. Devices with higher ID numbers have a higher
priority in communicating with the computer. The 486MIS SCSI port is
given to the highest priority ID 7. Make sure that there is no duplication
of the ID with the target devices.
SCSI Device Termination
The SCSI bus must be terminated correctly to ensure proper operation.
The first and last physical SCSI devices on the SCSI cable must have
terminators installed. All other SCSI devices must have terminators
removed. If the 486MIS SCSI port is not at either end of the SCSI bus,
terminators RT1, RT2 and RT3 (located next to the SCSI connector)
must be removed.

SCSI/IDE Dual Operation
The 486MIS supports up to two IDE and 7 SCSI devices. The IDE hard
drives should always be installed as drive C: or drive D:. Below are some
possibilities:

One IDE hard drive and no SCSI hard drive
- Install IDE hard drive
as drive C:. During system BIOS Setup, enter IDE drive type for
drive C:. Leave drive D: "
not installed
" and disable 486MIS SCSI
BIOS through jumper block W1.
