quired to assure valid Total Modulation
readings.

1) F connector for 75-ohm antenna
2) BNC connector for alternate 50-ohm,
high-level RF sample; 7V r.m.s. maxi-
mum
Selectivity:
250kHz Gaussian IF bandwidth for full re-
covery of baseband components to
100kHz with negligible overshoot
AM Noise Output:
Separate AM detector with dedicated BNC
output monitors incidental AM modula-
tion of the FM carrier; also monitored by
headphones when selected.
Signal Quality Metering:
RSSI (signal strength) and Multipath (dis-
tortion) metering
FM DEMODULATOR
Type:
Proprietary ultra-linear push-pull pulse-
counting circuit operating at 700kHz.
Baseband Output:
BNC composite/MPX demod output; 3V
p-p at ±75kHz deviation. Refer to Figures
1 and 2 for frequency response character-
istics.
STEREO DECODER
Type:
Proprietary I/Q PLL precision decoder
with unsurpassed AM rejection
Baseband Input:
Switchable between off-air FM demod and
BNC composite/MPX input. External input
accepts 100% modulation levels of 1V p-p
or greater.
Frequency Response:
±0.5dB, 10Hz–15kHz
Noise:
Unmodulated (stereo) carrier noise is bet-
ter than 65dB below 100% modulation
with de-emphasis applied.
Distortion:
<0.075% THD at 400Hz with 100% modula-
tion and no de-emphasis
Stereo Separation:
Refer to Figure 3.
Crosstalk Measurement:
M/S and S/M crosstalk measurement is by
the stereo sum/difference method. Refer
to Figure 4.
De-Emphasis:
May be turned on and off from front panel
or with Web interface; internal jumper for
50µs or 75µs.
Program Audio Outputs:
1) Balanced XLR left- and right-channel
stereo program outputs at +4dBm
2) Front-panel headphone jack

Alarms:
Tally outputs for Low Signal, Audio Loss,
Excessive Multipath and Overmodulation
(remote flasher). NPN transistors saturate
to ground for alarm condition.
Remote Station Selection:
Station presets may be activated with a
momentary contact closure to ground. A
permanent ground will inhibit selection of
any other station.
