Installation and Operation Manual

State Activity

The State Activity tab on the Trunking web page displays the state of each LACP, and indicates 
whether that port is in an active or passive state. A typical State Activity window is shown below.

Active (select)
In this state the switch automatically sends LACP protocol packets through this port.

Passive (no select)
In this state the switch does not automatically send LACP protocol packets through this port, and 
responds only if it receives LACP protocol packets from the peer device. 

A link having either two active LACP ports or one active port can perform dynamic LACP trunking.  
Switches attached to a link that has two passive LACP ports will not perform dynamic LACP 
trunking because both switches are waiting for LACP protocol packet from its peer. If you are an 
active LACP actor, when you select trunking port, the active status will be created automatically.
