Appendix C: Troubleshooting Guide
The Troubleshooting Guide provides answers to common problems regarding the 4-port Wireless N
Gateway settings, connections, and computer settings.
1.
The 4-port Wireless N Gateway does not work (None of the LEDs light up)
Ans.
Check the following:
1. Make sure that the 4-port Wireless N Gateway is plugged into a power socket.
2. Make sure that you are using the correct power supply for your 4-port Wireless N Gateway
device.
3. Make sure the power switch on the 4-port Wireless N Gateway is turned on.

I changed the LAN IP Address in the LAN configuration page and my PC is no longer able
to detect the 4-port Wireless N Gateway.
Ans.
After changing the LAN IP Address of the 4-port Wireless N Gateway, proceed to the
following step before a PC is able to recognize the 4-port Wireless N Gateway:
1.
Click
“Start”
“Run”

In the open field, enter
cmd
then click
OK
.
3.
In the command prompt, type
ipconfig/release
then press
Enter.
4.
Type
ipconfig/renew
then press
Enter
.
3.
No wireless connectivity.
Ans.
Check the following:
1.
Make sure both wireless client adapter and the 4-port Wireless N Gateway is allowed to
connect through wireless channels as defined for local regulatory domain.
2.
Make sure that the WLAN client is configured for the correct wireless settings (SSID, WEP).
4.
Poor wireless connectivity or reach.
Ans.
Check the following:
1.
Choose automatic channel selection or be careful to select a DSSS channel that doesn't
interfere with other radio channels.
2.
Check the location of the 4-port Wireless N Gateway in the building.
3.
Make sure both WLAN client adapter and the 4-port Wireless N Gateway is allowed to
connect through wireless channels as defined for local regulatory domain.
