8. GROUNDING
Before operating the pump, ground the system as explained
below.
8.1. Pump Grounding

All pumps have a ground screw installed in Crankcase
housing. Connect one end of the grounding wire to
ground screw and other end of the grounding wire to
suitable earth ground.

WARNING
LEAKAGE CURRENT HAZARD
Leakage currents exceed 3.5 mA. Failure to ground the drive
properly can result in death or serious injury.
Ensure that the minimum size of the ground conductor complies
with the local safety regulations for high touch current equip-
ment.

Ground the variable frequency drive through a proper
connection to a power source.

Ground the drive in accordance with applicable standards
and directives.

Use a dedicated ground wire for input power, motor pow-
er, and control wiring.

Do not ground 1 drive to another in a daisy-chain fashion.

Keep the ground wire connections as short as possible.

Follow motor manufacturer wiring requirements.

Minimum cable cross-section for the ground wires: 10
mm2 (7 AWG).

Separately terminate individual ground wires, both com-
plying with the dimension requirements.
8.3. Electric Motor Grounding
WARNING
It is compulsory to earth the motor. Earthing must be performed
in accordance with current regulations (protection of workers).
Motors have a ground screw inside the terminal box. Use it to
ground the motor to the controller.
