2- Connection to PSTN
The equipment has been approved in accordance with Council decision 98/482/EC for pan-
European single terminal connection to the public switched telephone network (PSTN).
However, the approval does not, in itself, give an unconditional assurance of successful
operation on every PSTN network termination point.
In the event of problem, you should contact your equipment supplier in the first instance.

In-car safety
The use of the terminal in a vehicle may cause malfunctions of electronic systems (e.g. ABS anti-
lock systems, fuel injection systems) in insufficiently shielded systems.
All transactions must be activated when the vehicle is stationary and parked in a safe manner,
terminal removed from the base.

General
Your terminal uses the GSM standard for cellular technology. GSM is a newer radio frequency
(RF) technology than the current FM technology that has been used for radio communications for
decades. The GSM standard has been established for use in the European Union and
elsewhere.
Your cellular terminal is actually a low power radio transmitter and receiver. It sends out and
receives radio frequency energy. When you use your cellular terminal, the cellular system
handling your call controls both radio-frequency and the power level of your cellular terminal.

Exposure to RF Energy
There is some public concern about the possible health effects of using cellular equipment.
Although research on health effects from RF energy has focused for many years on the current
RF technology, scientists have begun research on newer radio technologies such as GSM. After
existing research had been reviewed, and compliance to all applicable safety standards had
been tested, it has been concluded that the product is completely safe to use.
