APPENDIX C – Powersmart 2480 with CODAN LBUC
Powersmart PC Software Interface Device
If the user requires access to the BUC manufacturers control interface over the data bus via the Power
Smart 2480 front panel connector, a standard Straight Male to Female RS-232 serial cable should be used.
Other interface devices may possibly have other pin outs, and therefore require a custom cable. (See page
6 for pin out requirements of the PowerSmart 2480). Users need to make sure the PC Serial Interface or
cable matches the pins/signals on the PowerSmart front panel DB9 Female connector. Consult the Codan
documentation for serial data bus control functions and operating software as necessary.
Procedure
6. Ensure power smart is powered OFF
7. Plug the Female end of the RS-232 DB9 serial cable into the PC.
8. Plug the male end of the DB9 serial cable into the female 9-pin port of the PowerSmart 2480.
9. Power ON the iNetVu
TM Powersmart 2480
