5.2.2.9 Segment list
The submenu Segment list has, under Test protocol , the same
task as the menu point under Line test . The functionality is
therefore analogous to the one described in 5.2.1.1.
5.2.3 System configuration

System configuration is for device specific settings, like e.g.
parameterization of the serial interface, time settings,
firmware update and extended parameters. Here, also settings
like turn on / off key signal, automatic switch-off time of the
tool, illumination time for the background illumination of the
screen, and language selection for the screen text.
5.2.3.1 RS232 Interface
The built-in serial interface serves for a data exchange with a
PC. On the PC side, a terminal program is needed. For a data
exchange between
NetTEST II
and the terminal program (e.g.
Hyper Terminal, Hilgraeve, part of Microsoft operating
systems), the interface parameters like baud rate, number of
data bits, parity, number of stop bits and the used protocol
must coincide. The settings are needed for the menu points
5.2.2.4, 5.2.3.7 as well as 5.2.4.2. For the settings on the PC
side, please see chapter 6.
