pressed, the LED indicator “+48 V” (30) will
light up as an indication .
When connecting a mono unit to the
stereo channel, only use the jack L / MONO (2) .
Thus, the signal will internally be routed to
the right channel and the left channel .
2) When a computer is used to replay audio files
or for recordings, connect the computer to
the USB port (27) .
3) Connect the unit to which the sum signal is
to be sent (amplifier, active speaker system,
recorder) to the output jacks M L, M R (6) .
4) Headphones to monitor the signal can be
connected to the jack H . P . (5) .
5) Use the mains cable provided to connect the
mains jack 230 V~ / 50 Hz located on the rear
side of the unit to a mains socket (230 V/
50 Hz) .
4.2 Switching on the unit,
mixing input signals
1) To make the basic adjustments, first
– set the controls GAIN (7), H, M, L (8, 24)
and PAN (10) to mid-position
– set the controls AUX/FX (9) and RET (18)
to MIN
– close the channel faders (12) and the faders
FX (19) and MP3 (26)
2) Switch on the signal sources, then switch on
the mixer by means of the POWER switch on
the rear side of the unit and finally switch on
the unit connected to the output jacks M L,
M R (6) . To switch off, proceed in the reverse
order .
Move the master faders M L and M R (32)
to the position 0 dB and mix the input signals
by means of the channel faders (12) .
If a channel fader must be advanced
almost to its maximum, turn the control
GAIN (7) to the right to increase the input
gain . If, however, the LED indicator PK (11)
lights up for a longer period of time, turn
back the control GAIN accordingly . The LED
indicator PK may only briefly flicker at signal
peaks .
3) Use the panorama controls PAN (10) to dis-
tribute the channel signals on the stereo base
as desired .
4) Use the controls H, M and L (8) to adjust the
sound of the input signals .
5) Use the master faders M L and M R (32) to
adjust the sum signal for the subsequent
unit to an optimum level . Use the control
H . P . (25) to adjust the volume of the head-
phones (make sure that the volume is not
too high; high volumes may damage your
hearing!) .
4.3 Adding effects
The internal effect unit can be used to create
one of the 16 selectable effects and to add this
effect to the sum signal .
1) To make sure that the subsequent effect set-
tings are audible, set the controls PARAM
(15) and FX (16) approx . to mid-position and
move the fader FX (19) to the position 0 dB .
2) Turn the rotary knob PROG (14) to select the
effect desired . The effect number will flash on
the display (13) for a few seconds; the previ-
ous effect will still be activated . To activate the
effect selected, press the rotary knob; the ef-
fect number will stop flashing .
3) Use the control AUX / FX (9) to adjust the in-
tensity of the effect for each channel signal
separately . The signal for the effect unit will
be picked up after the channel faders (12),
i . e . the effect portion of a channel is always
proportionate to the channel level adjusted .
4) Use the control PARAM (15) to define the
number of effect repeats .
5) To increase or reduce the overall intensity of
the effect, advance or close the fader FX (19)
accordingly . For a further increase of the in-
tensity, turn the control FX (16) to the right;
this control is used to adjust the input level of
the effect unit . If distortions of the effect sig-
nal occur, turn back the control accordingly .
The signals that are picked up by means of the
controls AUX / FX (9) from the input channels are
also available at the output AUX (3) and may,
for example, be routed to an
external effect
unit
. For this, adjust the output level of the jack
AUX by means of the control SEND (17) . Route
the output signal of the effect unit to the input
RETURN (4) and then use the control RET (18) to
add the signal to the sum signal .
