All settings of the amplifiers can be saved as configurations . A maxi-
mum of 30 configurations can be saved in the amplifier and called up .
When the amplifier is switched on, the configuration saved before the
amplifier was switched off or the configuration most recently called
up will be loaded automatically . Unsaved changes will be lost when
the amplifier is switched off!
Using the PC software, it is also possible to save the configura-
tions to a computer or to copy them from other amplifiers (
☞
chap-
ter 7 .3 .4) .
6.2.1 Signal path
Figure 4 on page 2 shows a block diagram of the path a signal takes
through the amplifier . Starting at the inputs, the signals, after analog /
digital conversion, pass the following:
➾
Definition of the input signal for CH B depending on the operating
mode
➾
High-pass filter and low-pass filter (HPF+LPF)
➾
9-band sound adjustment (PEQ)
➾
Signal delay (DELAY)
➾
Gain adjustment (GAIN) with muting (MUTE)
➾
Phase reversal option (PHASE INVERT)
➾
Dynamic range compressor (COMPRESSOR)
➾
Level limiter (LIMITER) .
The signal will then be reconverted to an analog signal und will finally
reach the power amplifiers with the speaker connections .
6.2.2 Operating modes
The following three operating modes are available for the amplifier:
Stereo
2-channel mode with independent settings for both
channels
Parallel
Both channels receive the signal from input CH A IN and
have identical settings; the settings are made via channel A
Bridge
Bridge mode; both channels receive the signal from input
CH A IN
The channels have identical settings; the settings are made
via channel A . The signal from channel B will be inverted
with respect to channel A in order to obtain more power
at the output BRIDGE (11) .
6.3 Operation without a computer
Offering a clear-structured screen layout, remote control via the com-
puter is most convenient; however, it is also possible to make almost
all settings at the amplifier .
1) Press the rotary knob NEXT/EDIT/ENTER (5) to call up the menu .
2) When the password protection feature is activated (
☞
chapter 6 .1),
the password must be entered . The following message will appear:
Password:0000 OK
Rotate the knob NEXT/EDIT/ENTER (5) to select the character at the
blinking character position and then press the knob to confirm .
Proceed in the same way to enter the other characters . When the
final character has been entered,
OK
will start flashing . Press the
knob again to confirm the password .
To correct a character, press the knob BACK (2) to go to the
previous character position .
When an invalid password is entered, the following message
will appear:
The Password is Wrong
. Re-enter the password .
3) Use the knobs NEXT/ EDIT / ENTER and BACK to navigate in the
menu and to change settings; use the button ESC (4) to go back
to a higher menu level at any time .
Fig . 6 shows the menu structure and the navigation within this struc-
ture by means of the knobs . The following chapters briefly describe
the ten major menu items . For a detailed description of the setting
options, refer to chapter 7 .
