Notes
1. When replaying a title, the function is deactivated
8 seconds after the jog wheel has been used for the
last time (insertion SEARCH disappears).
2. In the pause mode, the current spot is continuously
repeated after fast forward
/
reverse. To stop this
mode, either press the button CUE (10) twice (new
Cue point is set,
chapter 5.8.2) or start the
replay with the button
(11).
5.7 Precise selection of a certain spot
It is possible to select a spot in a title with the pre-
cision of 1 frame (
1
⁄
75
second), e. g. to start the
replay from a certain spot instead of starting it
from the beginning of the title.
1) When you have roughly reached the desired
spot while replaying the title or while using
fast forward/reverse (
chapter 5.6), set the
player to pause with the button
(11).
2) Turn the jog wheel (9) back and forth to pre-
cisely select the spot.
– If you only touch the edge of the jog wheel
when turning it, the spot selected is re
-
played continuously.* To stop this mode,
touch the centre of the jog wheel.
– If you touch the roughed surface to turn
the jog wheel, the replay is only audible
while turning.
*If the spot selected is not replayed continuously,
change the touch sensitivity of the jog wheel
(
chapter 5.11.2 Scratch effect).
3) When you have found the desired spot, press
the button
to start the replay from this
spot.
5.8 Return to a certain spot
To quickly go to a certain spot, it is possible to
store three starting points (Cue points) with the
buttons CUE 1 – 3 (22).
It is also possible to define another starting
point with the button CUE (10); however, in the
single title mode, when you reach or select the
next title, the starting point of the next title will
overwrite this point [press the button CONT (16)
to switch to total title replay, if required].
Note:
The Cue points that have been stored are deleted
– when you select another folder
– when you switch between CD and USB
– when you switch off the player

The buttons
and CUE (10) start flashing.

with the jog wheel (9) [
chapter 5.7].
3) Press the button CUE. Thus, the spot is

button CUE pressed as long as the title is to
be played. After releasing the button CUE,
the player returns to the Cue point and is set
to pause.
5.9 Changing the speed with or
without displacing the pitch
The PITCH CONTROL (23) allows to change the
speed up to ±100 %:
+100 % = double speed
-100 % = standstill
1) Select the adjusting range with the button
RANGE (27). The text line (Q) briefly shows
the adjustment:
Pitch 8 %, Pitch 16 % or Pitch 100
The button RANGE also indicates the adjust-

2) To change the speed, press the button
PITCH ON / OFF (26) so that it is illuminated.
3) Adjust the speed with the slider control. The
display shows the percentage deviation from
the standard speed on the top right (l). The
number of beats (T) changes accordingly.
4) To quickly switch between the speed
adjusted and the standard speed while
replaying, press the button PITCH ON / OFF.
5) When you change the speed, the pitch also
changes proportionally. However, for a con-
stant pitch, press the button MASTER
TEMPO (28). The display shows MT (U). To
deactivate the function, press the button once
again.
5.10 Pitch Bend – Matching the beat
between two music pieces
When using two CD / MP3 players, it is possible
to synchronize the beat of two music pieces with
the same speed. Thus, the dancing rhythm is not
interrupted when crossfading from one player to
the other one.
1) First use the speed control (23) to match the
speed of the music piece to which crossfad-
ing is desired to the speed of the current
music piece. For this purpose, use the slider
control to adjust the same number of beats
per minute, see insertion (T) on the right at
the bottom of the display.
2) Synchronize the beats of the music piece to
which crossfading is desired to the beats of
the current music piece with the buttons
PITCH BEND (24) or with the jog wheel (9):
– As long as you keep the button
+
pressed
or turn the jog wheel clockwise, the title is
faster.
– As long as you keep the button
-
pressed
or turn the jog wheel counter-clockwise,
the title is slower.
Thus, the beats are displaced with regard to
the beats of the current music piece.
5.11 Effects
Various effects are available for a creative music
programme.
5.11.1 Reverse replay
For reverse replay, press the button REVERSE

of the title. To return to forward replay, press the
button REVERSE once again.
5.11.2 Scratch effects

manual turning of a turntable platter), press the

SCRATCH. Turn the jog wheel (9) back and forth
accordingly. When turning, touch the roughened
surface of the jog wheel, otherwise there is only
a droning effect. To deactivate the effect, press
the button SCRATCH once again.
Note:
If, after activating the Scratch effect, the replay of
the current title stops or does not stop when you touch
the jog wheel, change the touch sensitivity of the jog
wheel.
Adjusting the touch sensitivity of the jog wheel
1) Switch off the player with the POWER switch
(35)
2) Keep the button CONT (16) pressed and
switch on the CD / MP3 player again. Release
the button CONT when the display shows
“tOUCH”.
3) Read the value of the digits (A) on the left of
the bar graph. When moving your hand over
the jog wheel, the reading must increase.
4) On the left of the insertion “tOUCH”, the dig-

tivity. Set the sensitivity to the reading plus 2
with the button
or
(7).
5) To store the setting, press the button MEMO
(21).
6) Switch off the player, then switch it on again.
7) If the Scratch function does not work correctly
despite the modified setting, increase the
sensitivity value once again.
5.11.3 Effects Flanger, Filter, Echo
The three effect are not available at the same
time; it is possible to activate one of them at a
time.
1) Activate the desired effect with the corre-
sponding effect button (12). The marking of
the button lights up and the text line (Q)
shows the basic setting of the two adjustable
effect parameters:
FLANGER: 16 ⁄ 1 G070
FILTER:
+60
G075
ECHO:
2 ⁄ 1
G075
2) To change the effect parameter of which the
reading keeps flashing in the text line while
replaying a title, turn the jog wheel (9).
3) To set the other parameter, press the button
RELAY (6) first. The following parameters are
adjustable:
FLANGER: the length of an effect cycle from

) and the
effect intensity from 0 – 100
