Chapter 1: Introduction
Product Description
In fiber optic video and audio transportation networks, connectivity is
usually protected by feeding signals to both a primary fiber and a
standby or redundant fiber. In the event of link failure, an optical switch
at the receiver end switches from the working fiber to the redundant

either on an automatic basis, or as a manually-set device. The

D is protocol transparent and can be used in CWDM
optical networks.

5050D is a totally passive device that
continually splits 50/50 the primary and standby fiber signals to provide
redundancy protection.
