The LASer:LIMit:MDP command sets the laser monitor photodiode power limit value.

The LASer:LIMit:MDP? query returns the value of the laser monitor photodiode power 
limit.

Parameters

Watts: represents the laser monitor photodiode power limit in W. 

Notes

When constant MDP mode is used, the output level is limited only by the LIM I value. 
Exceeding the power limit will either cause the output to shut off (default) or generate a 
warning (see LAS:ENAB:OUTOFF command).

The (LASER) MDP limit is in effect for both laser output current ranges.

The MDP limit is not in effect when CALMD=0. In this case, the monitor current 
measurement is not converted to power.

Examples

"LAS:LIM:MDP 10"  - action: sets the laser output power limit to a value that corresponds 
to producing 10.00 W of photodiode feedback (optical) power.

"LAS:LIM:MDP?"  - response:  3.0, means the monitor photodiode power limit is set to 
3.0 W.

The LASer:LIMit:V command sets the LASER compliance voltage limit value.

The LASer:LIMit:V? query returns the value of the LASER compliance voltage limit 
setting.

Parameters

Volts: represents the LASER limit voltage, in volts. 

Notes

The voltage limit setting is useful for laser protection. This limit is internal to the LDX-
32420, therefore cable and connection losses must be added in addition to the laser 
forward voltage. If the laser is accidentally disconnected, the current source will quickly 
sense the over-voltage and shut off.

The voltage limit is valid for all modes of Laser operation.

Examples

"LAS:LIM:V 4.0"  - action: the LASER compliance voltage limit is set to 4.0 V.

"LAS:LIM:V?"  - response: 3.5, means the laser compliance voltage limit is 3.5 V.
