see that the depth- of-field zone extends from
barely 3 m (10 ft) to more than 15 m (actually to
23 m or 76 ft),
Focusing when using infra-red film:
When using infra-red-sensitive film, first focus
the image on the ground-glass screen. Then
note the indicated subject distance (in meters
or feet, or infinity) and move it from the normal
red setting mark to the red dot either on the
right or the left of it. By doing this the image
formed by the invisible infra-red rays, which has
its focal plane slightly further away from the lens
than the image produced by visible light rays,
will be brought into the film plane of the cam-
era and so will appear sharp on the negative.
Using the pentaprism viewfinder
The pentaprism viewfinder (12) has several
advantages : the camera can always be used
at eye level. It is possible to look into the view-
finder eyepiece (19) with either the left or the
