Figure 5-5: IEI Cooling Kit

The cooling kit can be purchased separately. The cooling kits comprise of a CPU heat sink

and a cooling fan.

WARNING:

Do not wipe off (accidentally or otherwise) the pre-sprayed layer of

thermal paste on the bottom of the heat sink. The thermal paste

between the CPU and the heat sink is important for optimum heat

dissipation.

Follow the instructions below to install a cooling kit.

Step 1:

Place the cooling kit onto the LGA775 CPU

. Make sure the CPU cable can

be properly routed when the cooling kit is installed.

Step 2:

Properly align the cooling kit

. Make sure the four spring screw fasteners can

pass through the pre-drilled holes on the PCB.

Step 3:

Mount the cooling kit

. Gently place the cooling kit on top of the CPU. Make

sure the four threaded screws on the corners of the cooling kit properly pass

through the predrilled holes on the bottom of the PCB.

Step 4:

Secure the cooling kit

. From the solder side of the PCB, align the support

bracket to the screw threads on heat sink that were inserted through the PCB

holes. (See
