The relevant laws, regulations and standards for ma-
chine room piping and for heat pump systems must
also be observed.
- It is essential that a dirt trap is
fi
tted in the heating
return pipe.
- Safety devices and expansion devices for closed
heating systems according to EN 12828 must be
fi
tted.
- Pipe dimensions must conform to the required
fl
ow
volumes (see section „technical data“ in this instal-
lation instruction).
- The connection hoses supplied for the heat pump
fl
ow and return, and for the HGL connection must
be installed. The connection hoses can be shor-
tened to the desired length, but not shorter than 60
cm. The connection hoses must not be bended!
- Venting options should be
fi
tted at the highest
points of the connection lines and draining options
at the lowest points.
- To avoid heat loss, the connection lines should be
insulated using suitable material.
8. Heating side installation
Oxygen diffusion
With plastic pipe under
fl
oor heating or open heating
systems which are not diffusion-tight, corrosion may
occur on steel parts when using steel pipes, steel
radiators or storage tanks due to oxygen diffusion.
Corrosion products can be deposited in the conden-
ser and may cause heating losses to the heat pump
or high-pressure faults.
For this reason, open heating systems or steel pipe
installations in combination with plastic pipe under-
fl
oor heating which is not diffusion-tight should be
avoided.
Heating water quality
Depending on the quality of the heating water, lime
scale may occur (adherent coating primarily con-
sisting of calcium carbonate) on heat exchanger
surfaces in particular, i.e. with a high proportion of
calcium hydrogen carbonate there is an increased
risk of lime scale forming. For
fi
lling heating systems,
very clear guidelines apply relating to the heating
water quality.
Speci
fi
cally, European standard EN 12 828, ÖNORM
H 5195 and in particular VDI Guideline no. 2035 must
be observed and represent the current state of art.
You must also check the pH-value of the heating
water. It should be between 8 and 9.5.
In heat pumps with process reversal is
already compulsory to install a
fl
ow meter
on heating site!
For brine machines, the
fl
ow meter must
be connect on the digital input “Error heat
source circuit” (see wiring diagram).
For groundwater machines, the
fl
ow meter
must be connected serial to the ground-
water
fl
ow meter.
In case an electrical heating element will
be installed in the thermal storage tank,
an additional safety device must be ins-
talled at the thermal storage tank!
Incorrect fl
ow rates due to incorrect
piping, incorrect valves and accessories
or improper pump operation can cause
damages!
The system must only be connected to the
mains and put into operation if the entire
heating system has been
fi
lled and bled,
as otherwise the circulating pumps may
run dry.
