How to: Remove jammed passport
1. Grasp the visible edge of the passport with
your fingers and gently pull to dislodge.
Should there be a feeling the passport may
be damaged, ceasing pulling on the
passport and proceed to Step 2 below.
Important: Do not use sharp or metal
objects that may damage the
kiosk’s reader
glass or the passport.
2. If you are unable to dislodge the passport
then open the passport reader hood (see
How to).
3. Once the hood is open, lift the weighted
rollers on top of the passport and slide the
passport out, returning it to the traveller.
4. If necessary, clean the reader glass using
a clean microfiber cloth. Absolutely no
liquid cleaning agents are to be used
without the supervision/permission of
IDEMIA.
5. Close passport reader hood and close
main right hand door (refer relevant How
To sections).
6. Check kiosk is secure (How To: open and
close main right hand door).
CLEANING ADVICE
SHOULD READER’S GLASS SURFACE
BE STICKY, THEN CONTROLLED &
CAREFUL CLEANING USING AN
ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL WIPE MAY BE
ATTEMPTED. UNDER NO
CIRCUMSTANCES ATTEMPT TO
SPRAY, DRIP OR POUR LIQUIDS
ONTO OR INTO THE KIOSK.
