Configuring a CD-ROM Drive

Select the appropriate drive icon (Pri Master, Pri Slave, Sec Master or Sec Slave). Choose the

Type parameter and select CDROM. You can boot the computer from a CD-ROM drive. You

can also choose

Auto

and let the AMIBIOS will automatically set the correct drive parameters.

Advanced Setup

Advanced Setup options are displayed by choosing the Advanced icon from the WINBIOS Setup

main menu. All advanced Setup options are described in this section.

Quick Boot

Set this option the

Enabled

to instruct AMIBIOS to boot quickly when the computer is powered

on. This option replaced the old Above 1 MB Memory Test Advanced Setup option. The setting

are

Enabled

Disabled.

The optimal and Fail-Safe default settings are

Enabled.

BootUp Sequence

This option sets the sequence of boot drives (floppy drive A, hard disk drive C, or a CD-ROM

drive) that the AMIBIOS attempts to boot from after AIMBIOS POST completes. The settings

BootUp NumLock

Set this option to

Off

to turn the Num Lock key off when the computer is booted so you can use

the arrow keys on both the numeric keypads and the keyboard. The settings are

Floppy Drive Swap

Set this option to

to permit drives A: and B: to be swapped. The settings are

Disabled.

Mouse Support

When this option is set to

Primary Display

This option specifies the type of display monitor and adapter in the computer. The settings are

Absent, VGA/EGA, CGA 40x25, CGA 80x25
