SET MODE

Weather alert

A NOAA broadcast station transmits a weather alert tone be-
fore important weather information.
When “

” is selected, the previously selected (used) weather

channel is checked any time during standby or while scanning.
When “

N w

X S

” is selected, the weather chan-

nels are checked in sequence during standby or while scan-
ning.
The “

X A

” indicator blinks until the transceiver is op-

erated after the transceiver detects the alert.

• “

X A

” appears instead of “

” indication when the function

is set ON.

Dual/Tri-watch

This item can be selected as Dualwatch or Tri-watch. (p. 14)

Beep tone

You can select the silent operation by turning beep tones OFF
or you can have confirmation beeps sound at the push of a
key by turning beep tones ON.

LCD contrast

The LCD contrast can be adjustable to 8 levels. The level 1 is
the lowest contrast, and the level 8 is the highest contrast.
