Customizing the channel announcement

You can change the channel announcement to suit 

your operating needs. The channel announcement 

customizing is convenient for the localization by using 

your local languages.

Customizing the channel announcement

1� 

 Connect a transceiver to your PC using a USB 

cable.

2�   Set  the 

USB Mode Select

 to “Card Reader.” 

(Menu > Function > 

USB Mode Select

)

3� 

 Open the Announce folder according to the 

instructions on page 9-8.

4� 

 Save announcement files in the Announce folder 

using your PC.

 

NOTE: 

The announcement files have to satisfy 

the following conditions.

The file format is “wav.”

 

• 16 bit 

 

• Sampling frequency: 8 kHz

 

• Number of channel: mono

The file is named as

 

•  “Announce_Channel_xxx_yyy.wav” for the 

transceivers with an LCD. 

 

•  “Announce_Position_zz.wav” for the 

transceivers without an LCD.

5�   Set  the 

USB Mode Select

 to “Data Transfer.”

6�  Turn OFF the transceiver�

• The entered announcement is made.

Returning to the default setting

1� 

 Connect a transceiver to your PC using a USB

 Delete the announcement files from the Announce  

folder.

6�  Turn OFF the transceiver�

7� 

Turn ON the transceiver.
