Chapter 3.

RAS and manageability

This chapter provides more detailed information about IBM System p5 design features that
help lower the total cost of ownership (TCO). IBM reliability, availability, and service (RAS)
technology allows you to improve your TCO architecture by reducing unplanned down time.
This chapter includes several features based on the benefits that are available when using
AIX 5L. Support of these features using Linux can vary.
