Chapter 2. System overview

Chassis

The system is housed in a 5U chassis containing two drawers of 42 drives each (84 drives in total).
The system is shown in the following figures.

The system uses 3.5” or 2.5” SAS drives. 2.5” drives require a 3.5” adapter. Each drive is hotpluggable

and can be replaced on site.
This enclosure is designed for high availability, with no single point of failure for data or power. It

complies to the Storage Bridge Bay (SBB) v2.0 specification, which specifies interconnects, power

budgets, power rails, mechanical and thermal form factors and footprints.
