To resume the test, get back to your fast pace, then click the center button.
STOPPING (ABORTING) THE FITNESS
TEST
If you have started a Fitness Test by accident, or if for some other reason you don’t like
how your test is going, you can abort the test at any time by pressing and holding the
center button for about 5 seconds. The screen will say “Test Abrt” (test abort) and the test
will end. The W/KG and fitness score result from your earlier test will be remain in
memory.
After the test is aborted your Newton will automatically return to the main screen.
SEEING YOUR FITNESS TEST W/KG RESULT
At the end of the ride your Newton will compute your “watts per kilogram” and show you
your fitness level. At any time you can check your previous W/KG fitness test result by
selecting Fit Test and clicking the center button. Your W/KG number is shown; multiplying
this number by your body weight (in KG) will give you your FTP number.
MEASURING YOUR
FTP
NUMBER
The Fitness Test measures your FTP (Functional Threshold Power; see Appendix 2 on page
44-46 for details). At the end of your test the Newton will automatically update your FTP
number in your Profile. You can get your FTP number in ISAAC by using Edit/Edit
Profiles/Extract from Device. Your FTP will be shown in the “Basic” tab at the top right
corner
IMPORTANT
: IF YOU’VE DETERMINED YOUR FTP NUMBER FROM A DIFFERENT METHOD,
YOU CAN MANUALLY ENTER YOUR FTP INTO YOUR PROFILE USING THE “FTP(W)” BOX,
THEN CLICK “SEND TO DEVICE” TO TRANSFER YOUR FTP TO YOUR NEWTON.
PRE-PROGRAMMED INTERVAL FITNESS WORKOUTS
Selected Newton models are equipped with pre-programmed workouts that are customized
to your FTP score. There are three types of pre-programmed workouts: fat burning,
