The adjustable depth stop-bolt (12)
is threaded into the neck of the
machine at the rear. By raising and
lowering the bolt with the provided
wrench you can control how far the
abrasive wheel travels when the
machine handle is depressed.
This feature is particularly useful:

To limit travel of the abrasive disc, especially useful after
installation of a new disc.

To increase wheel travel as the abrasive disc wears.

To tighten up the machine’s handle against the head (shaft)
locking clamp when moving the machine or during storage.
To deflect sparks away from surrounding persons and materials,
adjust the spark deflector (3), which is a movable guard associated
with the stationary guard (2).
Operating the tool will cause many sparks to fly around, position
this guard at a position where minimum sparks fly around.
