Owner’s Manual
Foreword
Thank you for purchasing the Ibanez TB50R guitar amplifier. Read
this manual thoroughly prior to using your amplifier in order to get the
most out of the functions available. Then keep the manual in a safe
place.
About Footswitches
The TB50R amplifier provides two footswitch jacks, and comes with
one IFS2 dual footswitch included. If using only one footswitch, you
can connect it to either jack (FOOT SW1 or FOOT SW2). If you wish to
use two footswitches together, you may purchase another IFS2
footswitch from your dealer, or you may connect up a latch-type ste-
reo footswitch.
Features
The TB50R amplifier head provides 50 W of output and is mounted
with a powerful 12-inch Ibanez original Power Jam speaker to provide
high-quality sound and easy operation.
The pre-amp is equipped with independent clean and overdrive chan-
nels that produce two completely different types of sound. The clean
channel provides a clean, crunchy sound through all registers from
low to high. The overdrive channel provides a piercing, smooth and
powerful distortion sound. It is also fitted with an active EQ that pro-
vides a larger variable width than the normal passive EQ function to
produce a much wider sound. It is also equipped with built-in spring
reverberation functions to add depth to the sound.
Precautions during use
•
Do not subject the amplifier to shocks by dropping, etc., or treat it
roughly in any way.
•
Place the amplifier carefully in a stable position. The sound from the
amplifier will vary depending on how and where it is set up.
•
Ensure that the power supply has been switched off when not in use.
Also, remove the power cord from the power supply socket when the
amplifier is not to be used for an extended period of time.
•
Do not use or store the amplifier in locations where it is subject to
direct sunlight or in environments that experience extreme tempera-
tures and humidity levels.
•
Reduce the volume to ’0’ or switch off the power supply when con-
necting the guitar shielded cable and the effects or other cables re-
quired for external connection. Note that the noise generated when
plugs are inserted and removed may cause severe damage to the
equipment.
Names and functions for each part
1.
INPUT jack
The input terminal for standard 1/4” jacks. Make the connection from the electric
guitar with a shielded cable intended for guitars.
2.
BOOST switch
The boost switch works with both the clean channel and the overdrive channel.
When the switch is turned on, the yellow indicator lamp lights up.
1) When the BOOST switch is used with the clean channel and the GAIN con-
trol is set low, the volume increases. When the GAIN control is set high, as
the volume increases a natural distortion is produced. By adjusting the VOL-
UME control at the same time, you can set the switching to your preference.
2) With the overdrive channel, when the BOOST switch is turned on, the vol-
ume level increases. The switch can also be operated using a latch-type foot
switch. When a foot switch is plugged into the FOOT SW1 jack on the back
panel, it overrides the BOOST switch.
3.
GAIN control
This adjusts the clean channel gain level. When the BOOST switch is on, turn-
ing up the GAIN control produces a natural distortion and a crunchy sound is
obtained. At the same time, the sound volume increases.
