1.4 Software
The behavior of the robotic lawnmower is controlled
by microprocessors and software. There is an MSW
program (Main SoftWare), an HMI program (Human
Machine Interface) and an SSW program (Subsystem
SoftWare).
The main program (Main) interprets the signals from
the sensors and controls the operation accordingly.
The HMI program checks the presentation of informa-
tion in the display and the input of, for example, key-
strokes on the keypad. The HMI program contains the
texts that are shown in the display.
The SSW program controls the blade motor, among
other functions.
This Technical Manual for the Automower® 420, 430X
and 450X covers versions 6.00.00 of the main program
and 6.00.00 of the HMI program.
1.4.1 Ascertaining the program version
1. Set the main switch to position

line that starts MAIN

BACK
button for 2 seconds to
exit Quick Check and return to the main menu.
It is important that the robotic lawnmower is
programmed with the latest software versions.
Husqvarna is continuously improving the
mower’s behavior and performance, which
results in new software versions.
