Protecting the Server by Using
NetShutdown
8.1 Introduction to NetShutdown
The NetShutdown is part of the NetEco centralized monitoring system. By obtaining UPS
events, NetShutdown deals with events according to the predefined event handling solution,
and provides the functions of executing command files and shutting down the computer or
server. If the UPS faces risks of power supply exceptions, NetShutdown implements the
specified protection measures to protect your computer or server hardware and software
assets.
8.2 Adding NetShutdown Software to the SNMP Card
To manage the UPS by using an SNMP card, apply to the SNMP card system administrator
for management rights and add IP address information of the PC corresponding to
NetShutdown software to the SNMP card access list.
8.3 Obtaining the UPS Status
After NetShutdown is installed on a computer or server and starts, it can obtain the UPS status
and implement computer or server shutdown protection. One UPS system can support a
maximum of 16 pieces of NetShutdown software. For details about how NetShutdown
manages the UPS status, see the product documentation related to NetShutdown
