Safety Precautions
1. General safety precautions
To ensure human safety and equipment security, pay attention to all the precautions marked on the
equipment and instructed in the product documentation.
The "NOTICE", "CAUTION", "WARNING", and "DANGER" statements in this document do not
represent all the safety instructions. They are only supplements to the safety instructions.
2. Local laws and regulations
Comply with local laws and regulations when operating the equipment. The safety instructions in
the document are only supplements to the local laws and regulations.
3. Personnel requirements
Personnel who plan to install or maintain Huawei equipment must receive a thorough training,
understand all necessary safety precautions, and be able to perform all operations correctly.
• Only trained and qualified personnel are allowed to install, operate, and maintain the equipment.
• Only personnel certified or authorized by Huawei are allowed to replace or change the equipment
or components (including software).
• Any fault or error that might cause safety problems must be reported immediately to a supervisor.
4. Grounding requirements
• When installing the equipment, ground it first.
• When removing the equipment, disconnect the ground cable finally.
• Do not damage the ground conductor.
• Do not operate the equipment in the absence of a properly installed ground conductor.
• The equipment must be grounded permanently. Before operating the equipment, check the
electrical connection of the equipment to ensure that it is securely grounded.
5. Personal requirements
• Do not operate the equipment or cables during thunderstorms.
• Remove the AC power connector and do not use the fixed terminal or touch the terminal or
antenna connector in a thunderstorm.
• Before operating the equipment, wear electrostatic discharge (ESD) clothes, ESD gloves, and an
ESD wrist strap. Do not wear conductors such as jewelry or watches when operating the
equipment.
• In the case of a fire, immediately leave the building or the equipment area, and turn on the fire
alarm bell or make an emergency call. Never enter a building or equipment area that is on fire.
6. Equipment requirements
• Before operations, ensure that the equipment is firmly secured to the floor or other solid objects,
such as a wall or an installation rack.
• Do not block the air vent while the system is operating.
• Tighten the screws using tools when installing panels.
• After installation, remove the packing materials from the equipment area.
