Mobile (GSM) Wi-Fi
What is it? GSM is the normal mobile
phone network. Wi-Fi is ‘wireless fidelity’ or ‘wireless’ network.
It’s a great way to connect your BT ToGo to the
Internet without using wires, in a wireless-enabled
location such as a hotspot in a café or your BT
Home Hub. Wireless broadband gives you Wi-Fi
connectivity to the Internet at broadband speed
– around five times faster than a standard GSM
mobile.
Why use it? • Provides good coverage in the UK.
• Lets you make voice calls, send/
receive text and picture messages
and browse the web/email.
• Uses less battery power than Wi-Fi.
• Faster web browsing.
• Unlimited

BT FON hotspots.
• 500 minutes per month at BT Openzone

• Ability to make great value BT Broadband Talk
calls – that’s calls over the internet.
When can
I use it?
When in range of the mobile network.
Your signal strength icon tells you
how much signal strength you have.
When in range and connected to your BT Home
Hub or BT FON/BT Openzone hotspot.
When Wi-Fi is switched on, the Wi-Fi icon
is displayed when you are in range.
Where can
I use it?
The BT Mobile network covers over
95% of the UK population.
There are tens of thousands of BT FON and
BT Openzone hotpsots throughout the UK.
